I know that size matters in international shipping. There was no damage but it would have been better protected with more generous packing... a slightly bigger box and more peanuts. The auction was very accommodating and helpful with arranging shipping of our overseas purchases. They were responsive with condition and provenance questions as well as very pleasant to deal with.

Thieves. Crocks. Avoid this auction house like the plague. I bought their rug through Live Auctioneers and then Tal of the Auction House called to tell me that a very special customer wanted the rug I purchased and asked if I would like to pick out another. I said no, I would not, and paid for the rug I won in the auction. Upon questioning, they said my rug would arrive in two weeks. It has been well over a month and the rug has not arrived. They are unresponsive to my many attempts to contact them. I also tried to contact the owners and received no response. They stole my rug and resold it to their “special customer.” Avoid these criminals. Do not buy from them.

SHIPMENT A LITTLE BIT LONG BUT ALMOST STISFIED

This was my first positive experience dealing with a auction house out of the USA. I can't say enough good things about them. Easy!!

I am still awaiting confirmation of my international wire transfer reaching the Bank of Israel. The $989. wire transfer posted to my account on 2/12. It should have been received by the auction house bank by 2/16, but no confirmation, although I have requested one. My next step, following a conversation w/my bank's international wire hub in Chicago, is to have a trace put on the transfer. More charges at my expense. This auction house noted that they accept Visa, I actually had to scan my drivers license and Visa to register for the auction. But when it came down to payment they prefered a bank wire. The 2.5 % Visa surcharge was more than acceptable to me, but for expedience sake I decided to send the bank wire. The first attempt was kicked back from the BMO Harris hub in Chicago, stating the IBAN # must be incorrect. I emailed my contact at the auction house in Israel, and asked them to recheck the bank wire beneficiary info they had first provided. They confirmed the info, and the second attempt "appeared" to go through. I got off the phone w/the BMO Harris wire hub this afternoon, and they think the delivery has not gone though. Sometime tomorrow, I should get a message from the auction house as to whether or not the funds landed in the correct place, and the status of my art. If the auction house would have sent me an invoice with a way to access my Visa Card, this snafu would not have happened in the first place... live and learn I guess.
