Shipping was terrible. I had a framed piece of artwork sent and it arrived shattered due to the poor packing process. Literally all they did was put a few strips of tape across the glass and one layer of very cheap bubble wrap and a thin cardboard shell. The frame and the glass arrived broken. The auction house did respond, but they said I would have to go through the insurance process with the post office, which is not acceptable. there was a 99.9 % chance it was going to be broken when it was shipped and they just didn’t care, it was easier to just ship it poorly and let me deal with the insurance refund. Not only did I pay full price for shipping and handling but now I have to pay to have it completely reframed

I’d purchase from them again. They explained the shipping process and after payment I received my item in excellent condition. The item was well packaged and arrived quickly.

The staff at Kensington Estate Auction House were very professional and attentive and polite. They even took my item to a local shipper at their expense and provided excellent communication on how and when my package was going to be delivered. As a first time buyer at Kensington Estate Auction I am certainly impressed with this experience. What an interesting offering for fine antiques! I certainly appreciate the Kensington Estate catalog..... thorough, accurate descriptions with excellent (numerous) lot images. The actual auction was conducted smoothly at a good steady pace. Final settlement and payment for the item I bought was prompt and easy to complete. In-house packing was excellent, carefully done, and very reasonably priced. I could not be more pleased with Kensington Estate Auction and am looking forward to their next auction. Definitely FIVE STARS from start to finish. I wholeheartedly recommend Kensington Estate Auction!!

I can't get my item shipped and the auction is no help whatsoever. This is a terrible operation and I would recommend avoiding it if at all possible.

The house shipper is using old used materials and old used box don’t deal with him

My print’s frame and glass arrived timely, but damaged despite what I considered to be appropriate attempts to pack and label the package as “Fragile” and “Glass enclosed”. The print itself was found to be okay when the cleanup was finished. I contacted Kensington with my concerns and a request that my shipping charges be refunded. Steve got back to me quickly and asked that I provide photos and documentation and refunded my shipping in full. This was my first experience winning an auction both with Kensington and bidding through Live Auctioneers, and I wish there were more than 5 stars for rating. I was able to communicate with Kensington about shipping costs and best options first via email, then on a call. The attention I got was caring and personal, including the sharing of personal stories about the pleasures of the auction experience. I reached out for a quote and to my surprise they offered to bring it into the city for me for collection (door to door was also offered for a fair price). Although a good reproduction, this item is a modern-day fake of a real artifact bow and arrow. The leather, wood and glue are relatively new. The patina of the wood is artificially enhanced. This was a waste of good money.
