Henry's failed to disclose the moth damage on the Russian Bukhara. Rated it 2 when it should have been a 3-4. Major loss of color. Packing in the box was very bad. They wanted to save tape and at least 2 ends of the box had no tape due to all the handling in shipment. Sent emails to Henry's with NO response!

My rug arrived as pictured and in excellent condition. The only bit of damage I could find was a bit of moth damage to the back totaling a square centimeter that didn't go through the surface. It was cleaner, softer, heavier, and more flexible than I expected. I found the estimates of age and provenance to be very accurate and among the best of the online sellers I've come across. Many sellers overestimate the age or, for example, carelessly refer to an Ahar rug, or even a Bakhtiari, as a Heriz. I didn't see any of that here. You can trust the descriptions. The quality of these rugs is consistently high. The numbered rating system for condition was very helpful. The shipping to the U. S. cost 97 Euros, which I thought was reasonable. My only complaints are that it took several emails to get permission to bid and that the only acceptable form of payment was a wire transfer. This involved a trip to the bank, talking to three people, being told I was a naive idiot for wiring money overseas and that I was probably being scammed, and paying $70 for that service. Wire transfers are just not common and convenient in the U. S.. Overall, I am very satisfied with it and I plan to buy more rugs from this seller, preferably without the wire transfer.

A good experience overall but some issues making payment, no bank was able to facilitate an account transfer despite having all the accurate information. Ended up using Paypal which, with fees, wiped out any VAT savings (as I am not in the EU). Once that was sorted shipping was fast and the lot arrived in good order and good time. Communication was clear and followed-up quickly. There is an opportunity for the auction house to include a little more detail in their listings, one of the pushers on the Seiko Moonphase required a little work to get going. If this was mentioned in the listing I would have likely been happy to purchase but would have been prepared to fix it. I will likely buy from Henry's again.

It has been six weeks since bidding ended and I still have not received items. It took over 10 days to receive my invoice and my email questions were not quickly resolved.

I bought two carpets for about $5, 500. Henry's mailed the carpets to an old address of mine despite my having told them that I had moved. Afterwards, they emailed me and wrote, "I ´ m very sorry for these circumstances. I have not changed your delivery adress as you wished. I ´ m very very sorry about. [ sic ]" The solutions they offered was (1) I find a former neighbor to collect the package and send it to me (2) I call customs and have the package redirected to me. Considering that I am paying them money to mail me the items, this is an awful lot of work that I am doing on their behalf. Then I got a call from someone at Henry's asking me to set up an account with UPS and have the package intercepted and forwarded to me. As far as I could understand the German gentleman who called said that he himself did not have a company credit card and so I should use my credit card and then send Henry's the bill. It turned out that international packages could not be intercepted. (Something they should have found out before taking up my time.) I have now spent several hours dealing with Henry's mistake. I asked Henry's if they could reimburse me the 250 or so euros I had paid them for mailing me the carpets. They said no because they had already spent the money. (All these emails are occurring with non-native English speakers and so I might be missing nuances.) I was also told to relax. That I would eventually get my carpets. To me what would have been a fair solution to this situation is if Henry's admitted their mistake, immediately offered to reimburse me the shipping charge, and then not told me to "relax". Anyway, I feel like Henry's behaved in a very unprofessional manner.
