Folks, I have an extensive collection of Cloisonn é, good items in good condition. Thought I’d offer some to these folk. Heck they even have a consignment email address. It’s a pity it doesn’t or they plain don’t care. So my message, if you’ve stuff to sell don’t waste your time with this mob …

worst experience with any auction house I ever had
No functioning phone Paid for item notified of receipt of payment BUT have not been able to have item picked up by their reccomended UPS. "It is not here"??? non responsive. Avoid them and they should not be permitted on Live Auctioneers

You were provided with two different working phone numbers. One of which you used to call to make payment. You proved quite difficult so the Gallery Owner offered to pack and ship your item himself at his expense to keep you happy. You then went and contacted the UPS store we have listed despite being told it was on the way to you and having the tracking number. “It’s not here” because it was already on its way to you. Non responsive? We responded to every call, live auctioneer message and email. You were quite rude in every interaction we had and have been blocked from any future auctions with us. All the best now

Totally disatsified, as was unable to proceed with payment and get the item
Bought this but, in spite of providing payment details to the auctioneer, was unable to get any reply at all from them. Zero response to my email or calls. This was a total waste of time and such unreliable sellers should be banned from liveauctioneers.

Item was plastic, not wood
After waiting almost eight weeks to have shipping done with, the item I received was not a “19th century carved wood” statue, but plastic. I contacted the auction house, but no response. A fraud and a scam. Buyer beware.

Have had a long-standing relationship with Stallion Hill Gallery, on-line and in person at the local Antiques Show in Miami. They are very knowledgeable, have beautiful Asian objects and have helped make the auction and purchasing from them a pleasure.

stallion gallery I will be happy to buy from again. The UPS store they offer as a option to ship you should not use. I buy at auctions each week. The staff is small at this UPS and it took fifteen different phone calls and emails to get them to pick the piece up. It was a small japanese tea pot. I believe this UPS store just to overwhelmed to handle auction sales. 17 days it took from time auction ended to time was shipped I recieved it 5 days later.

I asked several times for the phot of the box so I can see the name of the Japanese maker but he didn't response to my question. I got the piece and the Hamada name that the auction posted, the piece was not his. So I have a piece that I do not know who made it. I believe the guy works alone for the owner and does not have time to do anything else. He is sent to do other things and other errants.

I paid immediately and then the auction house stopped responding to my inquiries (as well as those of the shippers) about actually getting the item shipped. It took 10 days between payment and their releasing my item to the shipper. I bought it on 9/20 and received it today, 10/9. The shipper was wonderful and shipped it as soon as he was allowed to pick it up.

I won my Lot # 0208 (Chinese Scholar Rock with Rosewood Base) from Stallion Hill Gallery on May 7. And I paid full my payment $1875 already on May 9 via my credit card. But my shipper told me Stallion Hill Gallery don't release my lot to them. The gallery will refund me for this Lot. I try to contact the gallery many times through email and phone. But no one answer me until now. I didn’t get my lot. And the gallery didn't return my money. I don't know what happened? I have never encountered this before.

It was very difficult to communicate with them! Place was no longer in Stamford and they didn't return phone calls or emails. Fortunately, LIVEauctioneers was helpful in cutting through the red tape, got us registered and put us in the site. It took 16 days to get the piece after the auction. Hope future efforts will be better!

I have waited until now to reply because my item won in the April 8th auction was not available for pick-up by the shipping company, "The Packaging Store," until May 23rd... almost a month and a half after payment to Stallion Hill was made on April 9th. According to the email sent to me by Stallion Hill on May 2nd, my item had just arrived in this country... they had auctioned an item that was not even here. My shipping company has tried on numerous occasions to retrieve my item after the May 2nd arrival and finally succeeded on May 23rd. I have no idea as to the condition of the item nor of the accuracy of the photographs used in the auction since I have not yet received the item. I find it deplorable that Stallion Hill is selling items that they do not yet have in house. My understanding is that my situation is NOT UNIQUE, but is a common and frequent occurrence with Stallion Hill. To verify, I strongly suggest sending out this survey to other Live Auctioneer participants in the April 8th, and other, Stallion Hill auctions. I write this now, after my item was finally available for pick-up and before receipt of my item, because I want to convey the uncertainty and disgust with Stallion Hill Auctioneers while those sentiments are still in play and not after receipt when the item MIGHT arrive in perfect condition as pictured in the auction and soften my anger.

Incredibly frustrating experience. No one picks up the phone. They only have voicemail. Poor responsiveness to voicemail and email messages. The independent shipper they suggested was fine. The auction house had nothing to do with it.

I am completely dissatisfied with Stallion Hill Gallery. Actually, I have not received my winning item yet. I have not received any reply nor information from Stallion Hill other than the invoice, although I have sent them several E-mails. After the auction (Jan 26), I received the invoice from Stallion Hill on Jan 27. Therefore, I sent my credit card information on Jan 28. After that, I confirmed the deduction of the payment from my bank account. I also confirmed my payment in the Live-auctioneer’s dashboard. Then, I have asked Stallion Hill to confirm my payment and to send me the receipt. I also asked them to send “Release Form” for me to arrange the shipment several times. But I have not received any reply, confirmation nor information from them at all. Therefore, I found out their “release form” from internet, fill out the form and send it to them on Feb 6. Then, I have contacted their authorized shipping company (Tom & Jan McNerney The Packaging Store) to pick up and ship my item. After that, I’ve got information from the shipping company that they have picked up my item from the Stallion Hill on Feb 14, but they have not ship my item yet. They don't contact me after that, but just reply to me that they will contact me when they ready for shipment. Now, I am not sure if they really picked up my item from the Stallion Hill. I have called Stallion Hill several time, but no one answer the phone and just reply by answering machine to “Leave the message”. Currently, I am really concerned, that I could not receive the item although I paid $2, 500 to Stallion Hill. I will continue asking the shipping company to ship my item. I purchased this lot at auction and went to the auction house in Stamford, CT the day after the sale to pick up my item. I was told the lot is at the home of the auction house owner in New Jersey & they would contact me when it is brought to Stamford and when I can make the journey back for a second time to pick it up. I still have not heard from them and have not had a response to my "conversations". Not sure what to do!

Hello-I never paid for the item I bought. I tried to contact them about a dozen times by phone to pay for the item. Nobody ever answered the phone and nobody ever called me back. It was literally impossible to contact anyone. I spoke to John Sullivan in your customer service area and he sent at least 2 emails insisting that they contact me and they never did. As a consequence, I am extremely dissatisfied and by holding an auction and not honoring the outcome-it strikes me as little more than fraud. I hope this gives you food for thought.

I've bought a couple of items through them and they've been helpful. When you are overseas as I am that makes a difference. It makes me look at their auctions much more carefully as well. Like today so I'm bidding on something with confidence.

I WAS THE HIGH BIDDER BUT WAS SOLD TO ANOTHER BIDDER. I INQUIRED WHY? AUCTION CO SAID OTHER BID WINNER DID NOT RESPOND SO I WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE. I PHONED (LEFT VOICE MAILS) EMAILED ASKED FOR PAYMENT METHOD. I RECEIVED NO REPLY. YESTERDAY I RECEIVED EMAIL THAT I AM NOT COMPLIANT! I JUST SENT MY CREDIT CARD INFO VIA EMAIL TO PAY FOR THE ITEM. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.

They are great about communication. If they would offer in house shipping, it would be great but unfortunately they do not.
