It is a standard practice in Italy to require an export license which can delay access (one month or more) to the purchased artwork. This is reasonable since it allows time to inspect the work to determine its unique value and to deny the exodus of valued cultural artifacts from their country.

It would be more convenient if this auction house would accept credit cards.

We were bidding on a sculpture Lot # 200 on line and thought we had the winning bid, with no fair warning at all after 2 bids it was sold. There was no time to place another bid-this has happened in previous auctions w/Aletrmann & Live auctioneers-hopefully YOU can fix this in the future. pmproske Horseshoe Bay, Tx **********

Won a uniform on wooden stand paid promptly and asked for shipper contact.. shipper quoted 390 pounds for shipping without stand (I said I did not want stand). I could almost fly there to pick up at that cost. Other shipper did not reply. If Ewbanks are going to accept offshore bids they should have a duty of care to provide reasonable shippers as contact.
