Auction was on Dec. 4th, It's now Feb 12th and I still do not have my items. I knew Noel back in the day and he did not not run his business this inefficiently. You get one e-mail for billing and no calls, shipping is with a 3rd party so do not expect any type of professional courtesy in communications, so if you run a business make sure you follow up, check your spam etc-they are useless. Actually I wish I could be this inefficient with my business and still get paid. By main stream auction house clientele, I am not a big spender. My limit is about $250k a year (total) and I must say anything you are looking for you can purchase at another auction house. One that will treat you professionally and efficiently. Kind regards,

I purchased a small 8” cast iron toy. Outside shipper charger over $75.00 for shipping, still do not have the item. Takes over a month to receive the items. ANOTHER ISSUE you see the same item in 2-3 auctions. Guys, you are bidding against the HOUSE.-KEITH-

My items arrived today. 5 weeks after the auction. The merchandise is fine but the customer service was poor. Yes, I realize there were holidays during that time but 5 weeks is inexcusable. When I called I was told I shouldn't look for "instant service" Inquiring about my items after 5 weeks is looking for instant service?

In the description, they noted that the face had repaint, which I expected when I received the doll. What wasn't disclosed, is the hair and the shoulder plate had had touch up paint also and the back of the shoulder plate had cracks, which none of that was disclosed in the description. Just looking at the doll, you would never know that there was that much restoration to the doll, she is beautiful, just to look at her. I also believe that the arms/hands have been replaced, but not mention that they might have been. It's hard to bid online when you can see the doll in person and therefore the buyers really rely on accurate descriptions. I paid a hefty shipping fee to get the doll to me also, so the cost of sending the doll back is not cost effective. I will have to be more selective in the future when bidding with this company. She is still a beautiful doll, just all the damage and touch up paint was not disclosed.

I won a very old antique Skookum doll with all original cigar in his mouth. I asked to have the doll's head wrapped for shipping, since it is made of composition. The doll was packaged OK, but the cigar appears to have been smushed during shipping because his head was not wrapped inside the box. I'm glad his head did not break during shipping, but I am disappointed that the original cigar has been smushed.

Poop and poop did not want to accept my credit card which I have had in good standing for 40-years with a credit limit of $30, 000. They refused to accept payment by credit card. I had to write a check, mail it to them, then they wanted to wait ten days for the check to clear. To date I have made 18-phone calls to poop and poop and UPS. I had to pay $88 for shipping a $300 item. The auction took place 3-weeks ago, I still don't have my item making phone calls every day. Avoid poop and poop like the plague. Can you think of any other business not accepting your credit card? Absolutely insane. Never again. Fred (praying for a good ending to this nightmare.)

This company is very difficult to deal with, with rigid and inefficient payment and shipping requirements. I would avoid dealing with them

99 % of everything was great. Close enough to great not to complain but hopefully inform. Wonderful auction with great items. One word of caution to first time buyers. I enjoy using my credit card for convenience. Never ran into this before... I did not see buried in the fine print where it said no credit cards allowed on 1st purchases. That was a small problem in an auction right before Christmas, but no question it was my own fault, I should have read the terms closer. But all throughout the auction, the folks were great to deal with, the UPS Store did a wonderful job packing and shipping my items, and I'll be back to bid again. Hopefully many times, Thank you.

My experience with Pook & Pook has been a nightmare and I still don't know if/when I will receive the items I purchased on Dec 7, 2019. The company would not allow me to pay with my credit card as a first time buyer. Pook & Pook has not acknowledged receipt of my check, which cleared my bank weeks ago, nor have they let me know if/when my items were released for shipment. The shipping companies recommended by the auction house don't seem to be familiar with Pook & Pook's policies and have been no help at all in determining if/when I can expect shipment, let alone delivery of my purchases. I purchase via internet live auction very frequently and have never had such a trying experience with any other auction house. I will never purchase from Pook & Pook again, and will think twice before utilizing liveautioneers as well. There are many other choices available offering much better service.

It would be nice if the items I won would be marked as "paid" on Liveauctioneers. Other auctioneers look at that information. I emailed asking them to mark my items paid and as of this review, none have been marked as paid.

Like all online auctions, shipping can be a real issue. Not helpful with shipping, they defer everything to their third party shippers.

Always an easy, really seamless experience and the auction items are high quality. The shipper that was suggested was incredible, packaged beautifully and shipped quickly. Everyone that I spoke with was knowledgeable and so helpful.

I regularly buy through different auction houses on liveauctioneers and other sites for more then 10 years now. I am almost always satisfied with the items I receive, and the few times I am not, the auction house usually makes it right. This is the first time that I have felt the need to leave a negative review, mostly by the callous indifference from Pook & Pook and Noel Barrett. I paid $3000 + 25 % premium for a model Bugatti, that they described as missing a steering pin, but they failed to describe that the tires were completely flat and deformed and would not sit on the rims. You can not miss this when you see the models, although their photos cleverly hid it. The model displays awful. Needs the tires replaced which is not possible. When I called to speak with the appraiser who catalogued this item, his response was he did not think that this obvious issue was a flaw, and was not worth mentioning. Also, there recommended shipper AJ at The Packing Store is a crook, who multiplies the actual postage several time on top of the pick-up, packing and delivery cost. He charge $360 for actual shipping of $196 and tried to charge $1000 to send the Ferrari model to my friend in England, when the actual cost was $250. My friend had his own courier pick it up. I suspect there may be a kickback arrangement between the auction house and their recommended shippers. Stay away from this auction house.

Pook and Pook doesn't do in-house shipping. They often have very high quality items in my interest area, but I have had mostly bad experiences with the local shippers on their list of options. Perhaps it is part of Philadelphia culture, but bad attitude, crappy service and price gouging seem to be the norm. Dealing with two parties also means that it ultimately takes longer to complete the auction process. Dissatisfaction does affect my inclination to bid with P & P. Bertoia does packing in house, and I much prefer dealing with them.

The shipping companies are price gauging the customers on small item being mailed from PA to FL was quoted $80 to ship. I asked the auction house for help and I got nothing but rudeness. I wanted to pay for my item and fees but not have the item shipped. I was told I would receive a strike against my account unless I paid the ridiculous shipping cost. I have not received any shipping price problems before with other auction house. Customers should not have to do Unfair terms. The auction house should not provide unfair shippers to use for their auction. Then when the customers let them know and ask for help get rude with them. This gives online auctions a bad name. It is very Unfortunate.
