Description
A Lega Mask Democratic Republic of Congo, c. early 20th century Blond wood in an oval shape, heart-shaped facial plane with raised eyes and nose, slit mouth. Remains of white pigment around eyes, high points rubbed and polished. Perforated around lower jaw for attachment. In good condition, appropriate for age, origin, mediums, and use; some stains and discolorations; erosion around right side of mouth, hairline crack down right side of front (not appearing on the back).
