Description
A 1955 Hoyer Bianka electric archtop guitar in a blonde finish, owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
The 9-piece flamed maple neck wears a 21-fret ebony fingerboard, multi-bound with mother of pearl bow tie inlays. The headstock has mother of pearl inlays for the Hoyer Bianka branding as well as a lightning bolt, with matching floral buttons on the tuners.
A thick spruce top with carved edges, grey pearloid purfling, multi-ply binding where the top meets the flamed maple sides –– all present on the maple back as well. The raised center portion of the top and back is scalloped into a wave pattern that is entirely unique to the Biankas; the “crest” or tip of each scallop has an orange-red color. On the top, this is set off by wild lightning bolt sound holes.
Adjustable Hoyer bridge on a wood base, vibrato tailpiece missing its arm. Black plastic pickguard, two parallelogram-shaped jack-mounted Hoyer pickups, with selector switch, volume and tone controls mounted to a metal plate on the front of the body. Five-pin output jack.
Includes padded flight case.
