Description
A glass roundel, stamped with seven Hebrew/Phoenician letter within a wreath in blue glass and mould manufactured mounted in a silver pendant frame. The glass medallion is evidently older than the frame and has been mounted in later Roman times. The inscription is likely to be amuletic to protect the wearer. Silver and blue glass. Roman silver frame, Phoenician/Judaean glass amulet. 2nd/1st.c.B.C amulet, 2nd.c.A.D. silver frame. 36 by 30 mm.
