Gerhard Cervenka is an Austrian artist who lives in the Mariahilf district of Vienna. From 1969 to 1972 Cervenka studied at the Vienna Art School with Gerda Matejka-Felden and Fritz Martinz. In 1986 and 1988 he took part in the “Michelangelo” and “Interakt 2” symposiums at the Vienna University of Applied Arts. From 1991 to 1994 he was involved in the Graz Summer Academy with Paul Rotterdam. Awards, scholarships: 1984 3rd prize in “Artists painting and drawing in companies”, 1984 Theodor Koerner sponsorship prize, 1991 1st prize from the Fondatione Sinaide Ghi, Rome. Gerhard Cervenka is a member of the IG Bildende Kunst, Vienna, and head of the children's art workshop of the Kinderfreunde Mariahilf.
