DESCRIPTION: Antique NY Standard Watch Co. 14K gold 7 jewels pocket watch with a white dial with black Arabic numeral markers. The “Standard� hallmark is located at the 12 o'clock position. With inscription located on the inside back of the case that reads: "Roy 14K Fine" and numbered "761449". The movement is engraved with inscription: "New York Standard Watch Co. USA. BE045177" and "7 Jewels".

The New York Standard Watch Company was one of the largest manufacturers of watches in the United States. Most movements only feature seven jewels. The watch factory in Jersey City, New Jersey was closed in 1921 even though production under the New York Standard name continued at other factories and sold until 1935.
