ANDO JUBEI COMPANY
A Rare and Unusual Openwork Cloisonné-Enamel Baluster Vase
Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926), early 20th century
The exterior pierced with tall leafy stems of overlapping white flowering narcissi worked in silver and gilt wire, revealing within a central hammered copper tube, applied with a silver rim and foot, stamped on the foot rim Jungin mark (Pure silver), the base marked in silver wire with the Ando Jubei logo; with a cushioned and fitted wood storage box and a wood stand. 31cm (12 1/8in) high. No signs of any restoration when examined under UV light. Minor surface wear and a few minor firing imperfections (original to manufacture) but scarcely noticeable. Very rare. Very good condition and excellent presentable order.
