A framed large display featuring a limited edition character cel for the Walt Disney animated film Pinocchio (1940). This setup was recreated using original artwork from the production and was published by Disney Art Editions in 1995. The oversized cel shows a sequence of Pinocchio on his way to school and his encounter with con artist Red Fox J. Worthington Foulfellow and his partner Gideon, the cat. Disney artists used traditional techniques, hand-inking lines onto acetate cels over original animation drawings and then hand-painted the artwork using acrylic-based paints by a Disney painter. This particular example is hand-numbered 81/350 and bears a The Walt Disney Company seal. It comes presented within an original Disney frame with plexiglass and features a hanging wire on the reverse. The lot is accompanied by The Walt Disney Company certificate of authenticity.
