Rare 1868 Miller Iron Co. Cast Iron Beehive Birdhouse. This seldom seen birdhouse was patented by The Miller Iron Co., Providence, Rhode Island, April 14, 1868. Top of this birdhouse is embossed with maker's name. The birdhouse has a built-in screw at top where the birdhouse could be screwed in the bottom of a branch. Measures approximately 7" high X 6 1/4" diameter. Birdhouse is attached to an old piece of pine flooring. Condition- Birdhouse is in fine condition, no cracks, chips, or damage to cast iron. Interior of birdhouse has some rust and remnants of an old silver paint. Exterior has worn brown and burgundy paint. See photos.
