BONAPARTE, Joséphine (1763-1814). Autograph Letter Signed by the Future Empress. Paris, “le 30 Floreal l’an 20” (May 19, 1798). Addressed to the Citizen Minister of Finances. Signed by Joséphine “Lapagerie Bonaparte” at the bottom right. On plain ruled paper with “C & I Honig” watermark. Approximately 8 x 6 ¼”. Some soiling, one vertical crease, a few notes in unidentified hands. Fine. Joséphine refers to herself as the “Wife of the General-in-Chief Bonaparte.” In this letter, Joséphine is requesting some financial assistance for a friend.
