Bell, May 1, 1806. Rare hand-colored mezzoprint portrait of Nelson standing on deck with ship’s rigging in the background. Engraved by Edward Bell after a painting by Sir William Beechey (1753-1839). Print has a few visible tears and chips, and some visible repairs and marginal tears, lower margin visibly trimmed (no apparent loss of text). Some mild toning, soiling to print, a few small spots of loss of color. Still, a very good example of this rare hand-colored mezzotint. Not examined out of frame.
