ARCHAISTIC COLLECTION
扁壺精銅為材，通體鎏金厚實，呈扁圓形，圓口，直頸，頸兩側立葉形弓耳，下承外撇長方形高足。口、頸飾三道等距凸弦紋，頸、腹兩側及足鏨刻滿飾雷紋。腹前後兩面為對稱圓形開光，內錘鏨隱起穿花龍紋，兩龍首相對，似同戲寶相花。足內鐫陽文「大清乾隆年製」三行六字篆書款。北京故宮博物院庋藏清乾隆〈金鏨夔龍寶相花紋雙耳扁壺〉，為清宮御用品，與本件扁壺造形、紋飾、技法皆雷同，應為同一批範模之作品。
清乾隆時期格外注重仿古，其樣稿特指《西清古鑑》一書，依仿北宋《宣和博古圖》體例，將殿廷陳列與內府儲藏的青銅鼎彝古器中，選收一千五百器精繪形模、備摹款識並細說詳其形制、尺寸，歷時約二十年始成之圖錄，其製作工藝精益求精，不惜工本，呈現出前所未有的繁榮景象。本件扁壺造形充滿濃郁的的青銅器元素，源於戰國中期扁壺之創新作品，其複刻原形可參閱欽定四庫全書－西清古鑑、卷二十二 ãƒ» 漢〈素匾壺一〉，另台北國立故宮博物院庋藏宋〈官窯青瓷弓耳扁壺〉，可作為本件扁壺仿古風格比對的參考依據。
抱月瓶又稱寶月瓶，俗稱扁壺，形制源自中亞銅器，此形器皿原來應由皮革製成，盛液體掛於馬背使用，故稱背壺。清乾隆皇帝對此造形喜愛有加，在宮廷陳設器中十分流行，於景德鎮御窯廠官窯瓷器、宮廷御製玉器及金屬器中，可見不同材質之抱月瓶器類，主要為皇室貴族使用。北京故宮博物院庋藏清中期〈和闐青玉茶花山雀寶月瓶〉及本件清乾隆〈銅鎏金夔龍寶相花紋雙耳扁壺〉，皆為仿古抱月瓶之風格，實為乾隆融合仿古與創新，立意新穎之珍品。本件扁壺鏨工嚴謹精細，紋飾排列組合錯落有致，在一絲不苟的紋樣下施以純厚鎏金裝飾，顯示出皇家鑄造的雍容華貴氣息。
