Gunboat without Mast - Cast Iron Bank

Probably Kenton Hardware Kenton, Ohio - Circa 1895 These early gunboat banks are rare. This example without masts. It is 8.5” long. Material: Cast Iron

J. & E. Stevens bank. First place a coin into the slot, then pull back the hammer on the cannon. Push the lever and the cannon will shot down the mast of Spain, causing the coin to fall into the bank.

U.S. & Spain Bank. Cromwell, CT: J.E. Stephens, 1890s. Painted cast iron mechanical bank; the cannon shoots a wooden peg at the mast of a Spanish ship, knocking it down. Length 8 ¼”. Origin

Unusual size and color. Embossed on both sides. Original mast. Some paint loss. Condition (Very Good). Size 6 - 1/2" L.

Both japanned with original masts. One has more japanning and gold highlighting than the other. Both embossed "Maine". Condition: (Very Good - Excellent). Dimensions: Each: 4 - 1/2" x 2 - 3/4" x 5".

Battleship Iowa (10" L). Made of cast iron and in excellent condition (one mast broken in half, half missing). Made by J. & E. Stevens circa 1900.
