Description
1897, Boston/Vermont 4 1/2" silver dial ship's bell clock from the yacht "Sigma" accompanied by a period print of the yacht. The clock retains it's original blue shaped hands and is an early form tandem wind single post eight day time and strike movement. Clock is signed "Vermont Clock Company" on it's plate. Set into a brass case with a brass bell affixed to the top engraved "SIGMA". With the clock is a large folio print, titled "Steam Yacht Sigma". The color print is from an original painting by W. Ruchinbach, published by the Detroit LIthograph Company, circa 1882. Sigma was purchased by Sheldon Reynolds, a prominent member of the New York Yacht Club. Clock is 9" high x 6" wide x 3 1/2" deep. Print dimensions are 20 58" x 29". Condition: Clock has been recently restored and is in excellent running order. Print is in excellent condition and has been recently framed in a period frame.
