Full 123 Maps. 3 Manuscript leaf Introduction by Phillipe Galle. Bible Psalm in Latin with engraved representation on following page. Followed by 7 pages entitled " DISCOVRS DE LA MER" followed by 118 texts with corresponding maps. This is followed by "Approbation" (with a 1588 date) and a "Privilege" passages. This is followed by the table of maps which lists 3 pages of sources for the maps. After the table there is an additon which includes the remaining 5 maps and text.<br

Very likely original limp sheep vellum binding with both covers and spine having embossed (with hint traces of gilt)foliate decoration. Interior folds retain sections of the original silk ribbon used for closure.
