A CENTRAL ASIAN MAN'S SILK IKAT ROBE (KHALAT)
Possibly Nineteenth Century, Probably from Bokhara

The warp ikat silk robe having extra long sleeves and a simple cut to show off the bold designs and vibrant colors of the fabric (abr); large rosy discs with yellow interiors and small blue ram's horn motifs (kutch karagul) on a rose or white ground alternate with large spotted yellow or orange ram's horns on a purple ground, one rosy disc on the front having an interior eye instead, all rosy discs with four small floating pink ram's horns; lined in colorful Russian floral printed cotton. 52 inch height x 41 1/2 inch width across hem (132.1 x 105.4 cm)
