1) (large lot of foreign postcards) This lot includes a "Grand Tour" 1906 (some cards are dated) album assembled by the family who took the tour to Belgium, Netherlands, France, London, Germany (steamships and views along the Rhine), Switzerland, etc. Depicted are bridges, royalty, public and commercial buildings, street scenes, hotels, city views, costumes, river steamers, castles, and art. Some real photo postcards (inc royalty and theatrical). Some hand-colored, including many London and Paris views. First card in album has an ink note: "Landed here May First, 1906" (Havre). More color than b&w cards. All original (none added). Album is worn and missing most of spine, but cards are all in VG (well protected) condition. Also included in 3 worn postcard boxes are 14 color Dutch "art" and real people pcs, 2 b&w views of buildings + an album of 12 color views of real people; 44 b&w interior and exterior views of Monaco, Germany, Switzerland, and Amsterdam + 41 color mostly external building and street scenes. Included in this lot are a few "art" pcs; 23 b&w pcs of Carcassonne, 6 of Rimini, 40 misc Belgium and France (some interior views, many chateaus and castles), and 8 hand colored views of Chateaus; packet of 24 "art" cards (3 in color) and 68 more in b&w (some photo and a few in color); and approx 100 mostly b&w postcards of art and sculpture. Pcs in boxes have some light wear and soiling. Most are unused. Some with a name in ink, but no address or postage. Also included in this lot are several packs of better pcs from the same vintage. 4 German Gruss Aus pcs in color; 15 b&w and 5 color pcs of views of mostly buildings and towns in France; 21 ca 1905-1930 postcards of Italy, inc several Hotel advertising cards; 7 b&w pcs and 5 color pcs of views of Belgium and the Netherlands, along with 3 color Dutch illustrated pcs; and 6 rppcs and 3 color pcs of misc foreign views.
