Description
Lawrence Tibbett's 18kt Ulysse Nardin wristwatch awarded him by the Associated Press. Lawrence Tibbett (1896-1960) was a widely renowned baritone of American Opera who also made forays into live radio and musical films of the 1930's, even being nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for his first film appearance in The Beloved Rogue. From Tibbett's family comes a variety of unique and very personal effects from his life and career, starting with the vintage 18kt gold "Ulysse Nardin" 17-jewel wristwatch, case #886320, movement #34743, which the Associated Press awarded him. Inscribed to Tibbett by the AP and appears to be in fine physical and functional condition, housed in a vintage felt-lined leather box.
