(Dino de Laurentiis Cinematografica, 1968) Roger Vadim's sex-in-space epic from the equally sexy and envelope-pushing French comic book is perfectly illustrated here by this collection of (13) double-weight, oversize gelatin-silver semi-gloss prints. They depict for the most part the specific sexual nature of the film, including nudity which would likely not have been allowed for general publicity in the U.S., even at the end of the 1960's. The prints are of a high quality typical of European photographers of the time, and all but one are stamped variously by two of the top paparazzi of the time, Alfonso Avincola and Angelo Frontoni. They are printed in sizes ranging from 9" x 9" to 7" x 12", and do not appear to be trimmed. A uniquely revealing documentation (including Vadim directing and Fonda preparing his meals) for one of the most remarkable and notorious films of all time.
