Primitive American folk painting showing an apparently well-to-do African-American boy and girl with cherished toys in a landscape, watercolor on paper mounted on wood, United States, ca. 1870s; signed in pencil at lower left with the initials E.A.S. Although probably painted during the Post-Civil-War era, the children are shown dressed in elaborate Pre-Civil-War-era fashions.
Dimensions: Image area 6-1/2"H x 7-5/8"W; with frame 9-1/2"H x 10-1/2"W

Consistent with age. On painting, some foxing,with occasional staining and soiling; on frame, cracking, soiling, and wear.
