English silver center piece, 2 part, 12 inches

Description

Impressive Victorian English silver two section center piece epergne by Daniel and Charles Houle. The oval basket having pierced open work, the rim flourished with acanthus foliage and scrolls. Measures 4 3/4 inches by 13 1/4 inches. The arbor standard reiterates the openwork pattern, the shoulder lavished with flowering and fruitful vines. Combined height 12 inches. Each section is impressed with the rampant lion, the profile of a woman, upper case P and the makers initials DH & CH. The standard has an added impression of a cougar head. There is a repair to a section of branch on the standard. Weight 1795 grams. Stylish and very decorative. A must for your Holiday table!
