DESCRIPTION: Proceedings of the American Society for Psychical Research, Section "B" of the American Institute for Scientific Research, Vol. XII, June 1918 exploring the Smead Case by James H. Hyslop, Ph. D. Dr. Hyslop was a professor of ethics and logic and a prominant psychical researcher. He began working with Mrs. Smead (the pseudonym of Mrs. Willis M. Cleveland, wife of an American preacher) who received communications from various personalities including intelligences that had seen the planets Jupitor and Mars. Through Mrs. Smead they provided details of Martian life including an alphabet, maps, drawings of houses and flying machines, embroidery design, etc. This volume is an Editor's Copy with original drawings tipped in including the curtains used in the Martian house, Martian embroidery on a dress, and a Martian boat. Paper covers, 735 pages with index. Published by The American Society for Psychical Research, New York, 1918. MEASUREMENTS: 9" x 6". CONDITION: Front cover detached but included, with edge wear and small tears and losses. Pages with minor uniform toning.
