Important Tiffany "Venetian" desk lamp. The leaded conical shade composed of three bands of variegated amber medallions enclosing green fleur-de-lis and foliate designs about the crown and lower rim while the mid row encircles stylized geometric patterns against a field of sapphire blue. (A fitting color for such a royal lamp). Each row is then connected with squared green segments having a solitary ruby diamond design. The Russian inspired gold dore' base repeats the shades intricate foliate pattern and has a total of twelve green cabochon insets above and below the stem. The platform base has a conga line of twenty-one inquistive otters, in low relief, going their merry way, along the edge. The font and dome base have pierced designs. The base is impressed "Tiffany Studios New York, 515". The shade measures 13 1/4 inches in diameter and the overall height with pierced cap in place is 19 1/2 inches. The shade is marked with a partially effaced "Tiffany Studio" tag and there is minor restoration to the lower edge of the shade.
