Probably early 20th century, marble base signed ''Boese'' (Johannes Boese, 1856-1917, German), depicting the sacrifice of Andromeda to the sea monster, chained to a rock, before being rescued by Perseus, overall, 20.25'' H x 10'' W x 8'' D, est:$2000/3000
Condition
Height of figure: 15''. General marks, scratches and rubbing to surfaces overall. Decently cast. With a grey spot on torso of Andromeda in front of left arm- as visible in catalogue photo. Right foot with a smaller grey spot- possibly sites of repairs. Some polish residue in areas. Chain possibly replaced. Marble ''rock'' unpolished. With some scattered chips- most notable a circular 0.5'' area on right side near monster. Lacking securing nuts to underside to affix to threading of Andromeda. AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL
