Second half 18th century, top and base probably associated, the rectangular cornice above a waved apron over two sets of recessed shelves flanking an arched door enclosing further shelves, above an outset rectangular base fitted with three drawers, on cabriole legs, 75.5'' H x 73.5'' W x 19.25'' D, est:$3000/5000. Provenance: Property from a Private San Marino, CA Collector
Condition
In very good, nicely restored condition overall. Refinished. With a deep chestnut color to timber overall. Structurally sound. General marks, nicks, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. Top and base probably associated, as stated. Top section possibly later in date but sections match very well. Top with typical shrinkage cracking to back boards. Back of door compartment with old securing nail or screw holes. Door with a 21'' replaced section to left side from lower corner. Top likely reattached. With an infilled shrinkage crack running across top, separating again from center to left side. With some loss of finish to top of outset section. Pulls replaced. Back legs spliced. Front legs probably replaced but do have age and are well matched. Three keys. This and all lots are sold AS IS.
