Autograph Letter Signed by Richard G. Ketchum of the 21st New York Cavalry, 4pp. octavo, pencil, Frederick, July 23, 1865, on U.S. Christian Commission lettersheet, with matching cover, it reads in part: “...got no answer yet about my discharge...I wish I had been well enought to go home as soon as I go my debts paid...this hospital is nearly broke up only about thirty men left her to be discharged now. I like forgot to tell you that Dr. Helsby has got two of his sister here for me to take my choice out of the two. They ae a splendid fine girls you may believed, he and his wife goes saddle ride, then set me in the carriage to drive for his sister you better guess I have a good time of riding out all most every day...” Good condition.
