Description
Union Civil War veteran's letter, 6pp. 8vo., written by Charles "Addison" Hosford, Fir Grove, Blaine Co., Idaho, to his sister, Mollie, describing his recent stay in a sanitarium and his subsequent journey to visit his children in Idaho. After describing the journey and the setting, he offers some observations on the ongoing 1912 election, in part; "...I am not going to join the new political party [Bull Moose]. I have no use for Roosevelt or Taft either. They both have shown themselves in a most ridiculous scramble for the presidency. If I vote at all it will be for Woodrow Wilson. He is a far superior man to either Taft or Roosevelt. He is a man of unquestioned ability, a conscientious Christian man with no corporation strings tied to him and judging from the good work he has done as Gov. of New Jersey is more worthy of my vote than any other candidate in the field. What is there in a party name to cling to? Nothing! It is men we want..." Original folds, else very good.
