Description
A general group of clothing, 1880s-early 1930s, including a black damask satin gown 1880s but later altered with a photograph of the original owner of the gown taken in Birmingham; together with a hem-lifter and fan; a cream silk housecoat c.1910 with elaborate crochet tassels and lace applique; lace blouses and bodices, assorted capes, sequined tabard, (qty) Provenance: the black dress belonged to Eelanor Lloyd (nee Howard). She married Sampson Zachary Lloyd of Areley Hall, Stourport-on-Severn Worcs, and had 11 children dying during the birth of her 12th child in 1885. The Lloyd family were originally quakers from mid-Wales some moving to the midlands to work in the iron and steel industry and others to London and banking - hence Lloyds Bank.

black satin dress altered - the waistline is huge! cream silk house coat has ink stains; sequined tabard - missing some sequins to panelled skirt and the skirt
