Description
About .69 caliber, 42" round barrel marked 1st Regiment Southampton London on top near breech. Wood stock with brass mountings, tang of brass butt plate etched "CITY OF NEW YORK". Butt stock is also stamped with N-Y 1 Reg.. The working lock is marked WILSON, and the frizzen has been re-faced long ago. The gun has an early repair to butt stock, that is explained in included documentation From General Sullivan around the time of the Wyoming PA campaign. It is reported to be bullet damage from an accidental discharge of a weapon. This is a nice example of a Historic scare early American weapon. Possibly the best example known! Very Good
