Purchased in Italy many years ago, this miniature painting shows a brunette lady with curls holding what appears to be a coral necklace, classical drapery clothing with a column in the background. The painting is unsigned. The brass frame holding the miniature has a large bow with crest at the top and a floral garland across the bottom. The case of the frame is riveted together. The miniature itself is 2 1/4” wide by 3 1/4” tall. The framed dimensions are 6” wide by 4” tall, the easel backing is intact. This is likely to be last quarter of the 19th century.
