The tracing, given to the master of a commercial ship by the Swatow weather bureau, shows the barometer reaching a low of 27.19. With period envelope which contained the tracing. The Swatow Typhoon was a devastating tropical cyclone that caused thousands of deaths in the Chinese city of Swatow (now Shantou), making it the fourth deadliest typhoon in Asian history.
