CLARK GABLE
(1901-1960) American film actor known for his portrayal of rough, romantic heroes, most notably in Gone With the Wind. A terrific "Gone With the Wind" association item, a copy of Margaret Mitchell's epic signed by Gable as his character: "(Rhett) Gable"! This copy of Margaret Mitchell's work was published by MacMillan & Co. Ltd., London, 1939 - the same year that the blockbuster MGM release of the same name starring Gable and Vivien Leigh was released to huge acclaim. The book, 1,038 pages, is inscribed on the front flyleaf: "To Dorothy My best wishes for your happiness Always (Rhett) Gable". Covers broken at the gutters, green cloth covers and spine ends worn at the edges, contents very good. One of America's greatest novels, signed by one of it's greatest actors...as the character he portrayed!
