BOSTON INFANTRY REGIMENT CIVIL WAR ALBUMEN
Original albumen photograph, 13" x 10" (sight), an early Civil War view of eight Boston infantrymen in a studio setting in full uniform and with rifles at hand, with one holding a bugle. The soldiers wear non-standard uniforms, which include shakos, belt sashes, and shoulder belts, indicating that they are likely a militia unit raised pre-war. The photograph is matted and framed with a brass plaque reading "Boston, July 1, 1861". The photo is slightly faded and toned, as is usual for images of this age, else very good. Worthy of further research.
