ARMIES OF THE SHENANDOAH ESCUTCHEON
Large hand-colored lithograph escutcheon, 16" x 22" sight, presented to E.C. Carey of the 24th Mass. Volunteer Infantry by the National Tribune of Washington D.C., certifying that Carey served as a member of the Army of the Shenandoah during the Civil War. The certificate lists each of the corps that made up the Army, their principle battles and losses, and includes a map of their theater of operations in the Shenandoah Valley.
