Description
A Levantine limestone head of a man, possibly a Pharaoh, with Egyptianizing features, 1st Millennium BC, with almond-shaped eyes and angular nose, the back of the head flat suggesting the piece was meant to be seen from the front. An interesting piece! H: 2 7/8 in (7.3cm). Light surface mineral deposits and mounted on an old black rectangular base. Ex collection of Joan Oestreich Kend, New York.
