Battlefield found, 1850 French Imported, Civil War Union Staff Officers Sword. This sword is marked with the hallmarks of the French maker Backes & Delacour who partnered in 1860. The guard has the stamp of W Raubeof New York, who was an importer of weapons for the US Military during the Civil War. Etched Blade. Amazingly, this battlefield find continues to have it's original leather & brass scabbard.
