This group of two book sets contains the following:

2 - Phantasmata or Illusions and Fantasms of Protean Forms Productive of Great Evils, (Vol I, 504pp. & Vol II 588pp.), R.R. Madden, T.C. Newby, London, 1857. This early work by Psychiatry pioneer Richard Robert Madden provides a fascinating look into his study of mass hysteria in the 1850's.
Measure 7.5"-9.25".

Condition

Condition - Embossed covers and backstrips. Some foxing on edges, end papers, front matter and in text. Uncut edges. Dents to edges, Backstrips gilded and worn Overall nice sets for display.
