Description
Deposited circa 274 AD. The hoard comprises 336 radiate antoninianii including official types in the names of Gallienus/Salonina (5), Claudius II Gothicus (8), Divus Claudius (7), Tetricus I (9) and Tetricus II (4) and 293 mostly barbarous or irregular issues of these emperors (plus Victorinus) with various reverse types present and some coins not fully identified; accompanied by eight fragments of the coarseware ceramic vessel that the hoard was concealed in (the base clearly showing where coins were adhering to the interior) and with the detailed listing and report prepared by Richard Abdy of the British Museum for the purpose of the hearing under the Treasure Act following which the hoard has been disclaimed.
