Group of Fourteen Pieces of Wedgwood Jasperware, 1900 or earlier, consisting of a light blue teapot and cream pitcher; five dark blue cream pitchers, one with cover; two dark blue milk pitchers; two covered sugar bowls; a baluster vase; a covered jar; and a basalt bowl, 1874, (14 Pcs.), Largest Pitcher- H.- 7 1/2 in., W.- 6 in., D.- 4 1/2 in. Provenance: The Estate of Sidney J. Mazarat III, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Repairs throughout covered jar; greenish discoloration and raised texture throughout. Repair to break through half of largest covered sugar bowl. Several flea-size chips along break and brown glue residue visible along center. Repair to crack through basalt bowl and a pea-size chip in the rim. Pea-size chip on the bottom of the largest pitcher. Faint brown spots on one light blue pitcher. Possible repair to one spout, which has short cracks along edges. Two approximate ½ inch cracks in spouts. Small cracks around the base of one handle. Pea-size chip and pea-size repair to one spout. Approximate 1 inch area of white residue in crevices of one piece. 1 inch green discoloration on the bottom of one spout. Brown residue around one handle. A charming group.
