Description
French Patinated Spelter Art Nouveau Mantel Clock, c. 1900, with a figure of "Premieres Fleurs," by L & F Moreau, enclosing a drum clock, time and strike, with an enamel dial, on a sloping highly figured creme marble base, H.- 19 1/2 in., W.- 14 in., D.- 7 3/4 in. Provenance: The Estate of Sidney J. Mazarat III, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. Light wear on bottom of proper right foot of both figures. Approximate 1 inch vertical scratch between center and "12". Pin on right side of plaque slightly loose. Two ¼ inch scratches on front of glass. Light wear along hinge of window. Apparent repair to four cracks across marble. Black filler visible in two cracks on left side and near center of front. Back does not stay shut. A lovely piece.
