BOMBER COMMAND: A good printed 8vo menu for the Royal Air Force Bomber Command Reunion Dinner at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London, on 13th May 1978, in the RAF Diamond Jubilee year, individually signed by seventeen individuals, many associated with Bomber Command as well as 617 Squadron and The Dambusters, including Harold Martin (1918-1988, Australian Air Marshal, a bomber pilot of World War II who participated in Operation Chastise, The Dambusters Raid, as Pilot of Lancaster ED909/G AJ-P, 16th-17th May 1943), Basil Feneron (1920-1993, British Royal Air Force officer, a member of 617 Squadron who participated in Operation Chastise, The Dambusters Raid, as Flight Engineer of Lancaster ED918/G AJ-F, 16th-17th May 1943), David Shannon (1922-1993, Australian Bomber Pilot of World War II who participated in Operation Chastise, The Dambusters Raid, as Pilot of Lancaster ED929/G AJ-L, 16th-17th May 1943), Leonard Cheshire VC (1917-1992, British Group Captain, a bomber pilot of World War II who served as Officer Commanding 617 Squadron November 1943 - July 1944, Victoria Cross winner for his aerial exploits during World War II), Roderick Learoyd VC (1913-1996, British Wing Commander of World War II, Victoria Cross winner for his actions during the attack on the Dortmund Ems canal, 12th August 1940), Leonard Trent VC (1915-1986, New Zealand Group Captain of World War II, Victoria Cross winner for his actions in a bombing attack on the power station in Amsterdam on 3rd May 1943), William Reid VC (1921-2001, Scottish Flight Lieutenant, a bomber pilot of World War II with 617 Squadron, Victoria Cross winner for his actions during an attack on Dusseldorf, 3rd November 1943), James Tait (1916-2007, British Group Captain, a bomber pilot of World War II who conducted various missions including the one which finally sank the German battleship Tirpitz in 1944. Officer Commanding 617 Squadron July- December 1944), Arthur T. Harris (1892-1984, British Marshal of the Royal Air Force, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of RAF Bomber Command during World War II), Don Bennett (1910-1986, Australian Air Vice Marshal, a bomber pilot of World War II who led the Pathfinder Force), Augustus Walker (1912-1986, British Air Chief Marshal, a bomber pilot during World War II and a pioneer of jet aircraft), Fay Gillon (d.2009, British Women's Auxiliary Air Force Intelligence Officer affiliated to 617 Squadron, flew with Mick Martin and his crew on the final dress rehearsal on the Friday before The Dambusters Raid, 16th-17th May 1943), Eve Gibson (1911-1988, Welsh Show Dancer and Actress, wife of Guy Gibson VC from 1940), Ted Willoughby (Leading Aircraftsman of World War II, associated with the Lancaster R5868 S-Sugar, the oldest surviving Lancaster bomber and the first to complete 100 operations during World War II, now restored and on display at the Royal Air Force Museum), David Shepherd (1931- , British Artist, famous for his paintings of wildlife, locomotives and aircraft) etc. All have signed in bold blue or black inks throughout the menu and a few have added brief inscriptions.
