A beautiful silver crown intended for a Santo or Madonna of a Spanish Colonial style, hand made by the Andean silversmiths in Bolivia from high content 9.25 silver (with a stamp indicating this on the extension). A resplendor like this example would have been attached to the back of the sacred figure with the curved extension. The silver corona (crown) or resplendor has been embellished with floral, foliate, and traditional Spanish colonial designs using the repoussé technique. A wonderful example for any collection of Spanish Colonial art, created via the same techniques used since the Colonial era by the Andean silversmiths, meticulously hand hammered, expertly molded in repousse, and chased throughout.
