Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Santa Clara Pueblo, ca. 1st half 20th century CE. A stunning and early example of Santa Clara blackware, hand built and traditionally fired with a rich lustrous stone polished finish, and featuring four bear paw glyphs on the elegant shoulder.
