Description
A selection of silver spoons to include a George III Irish silver teaspoon of Fiddle pattern with monogrammed terminal, hallmarked Dublin 1816, probably Richard Archbold. Together with three George III silver teaspoons, two of Old English pattern one of Hanoverian pattern, each with initialled terminal, an Edwardian silver teaspoon and silver caddy spoon, a George IV silver sauce ladle with crested terminal and a 1940's silver teaspoon, various dates and maker's marks. Gross weight 6.5 ozt (185 grams).
Condition
In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The bowl of the Irish teaspoon has noticeable bumps, dents and wear. The two Old English pattern teaspoons have no town mark present are assumed London, the Hanoverian teaspoon is marked only with the maker's mark R.S, possibly Robert Sallam alongside a further indistinct mark possibly a lion passant, the reverse terminal has further engraved initials and the reverse bowl has an engraved flower basket. The ladle has a crest depicting a stag. Some hallmarks rubbed and worn but still legible.
