Description
Greece, Kingdom of Paeonia, Patraus, ca. 340 to 315 BCE. AR tetradrachm (12.2 g) Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo right. Reverse: Warrior on rearing horse right, spearing enemy warrior who defends himself with raised shield. SNG ANS 1030. Size: 1" W (2.5 cm)

The Kingdom of Paeonia during this time was annexed by Philip II and became part of the Kingdom of Macedonia; its geographic extent is roughly the same as the modern-day Republic of Macedonia.
